The New England Patriots are preparing to take on the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, and are tasked with slowing down one of the best young quarterbacks in the league in Andrew Luck.
"A rising young star," cornerback Darrelle Revis said Thursday before practice. "The passes he throws, the way he runs the offense, kind of looks like Peyton Manning all over again. You have to give him his credit. He’s worked hard, brought them this far."
Despite all the praise Revis gave the young QB, he expressed that the Patriots' defense has been battle-tested all season and are ready to stop Luck and the Colts explosive offense.
"We’ve came a long way, probably had one of the toughest schedules, playing against some great quarterbacks, some great offenses," he said. "Very explosive offenses, and we stood up to the challenge the whole year. You have to give everybody credit -- the coaching staff, the players. We put a lot of our players in some tough situations this year, and we stood up to the challenge. We just have to play Patriot football, and continue to play like we’ve been playing all year."
Kickoff between the Patriots and Colts is set for 6:40 p.m. on CBS on Sunday.
