Former New England Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib was an X-factor for the Pats during his time in New England, especially when it came to locking down some of Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos' most lethal offensive weapons.
Talib is now resides on the other side of the field in what has become one of the best non-divisional rivalries in all of the NFL. However, Talib came this close to re-signing in New England before signing a monster contract with Denver in the offseason.
“It was a negotiation, and it came down to the language of the contracts,” Talib said, via Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald. “I just went with what I feel was best with me and my family. I can’t remember the logistics and everything. It wasn’t bad at all. The offer wasn’t bad.”
Talib also told Howe that he "relished" his time in New England, indicating that the decision to change alliances was an extremely tough one all around.
