The New England Patriots are 12-3 and in great position for a bye and the No. 1 seed in the AFC. However, the Patriots don't just want a playoff berth. It's Super Bowl or bust for New England once again, as they try to repeat as champions. Here are three reasons why the Patriots will do just that.
3. Strong Defense
The Patriots' weakness this season was supposed to be their defense. The secondary has several question marks and it looked like the offense was going to need to shoulder the load. As it turns out, that's not the case. New England has pieced together a Top 10 defense, despite several injuries. The secondary has been downright great at times as this year. The Patriots might not have a defense as great as Denver or Cincinnati, but it's good enough to get them another Super Bowl victory.
2. Tom Brady
Having one of the best QB in the NFL makes it easier to win a Super Bowl. That's the case for New England and Tom Brady, who is the top QB in the NFL. Brady's in the midst of a great season, despite several injuries to his weapons. Brady has already surpassed his yards and matched his TD total. Brady has completed 64.7 percent of his passes, his best mark since 2011. He's thrown for 4,636 yards with 36 TDs and seven picks. With Brady at the helm, the Patriots will be lifting yet another Lombardi Trophy.
1. Best Head Coach
There isn't a better coach in the NFL than Bill Belichick. He has his haters (just like the Patriots in general), but Belichick is an NFL mastermind. He constantly puts his players in the best positions to succeed and gets the most out of them. Belichick won't be out-coached at any point in the playoffs and that's going to be a key difference in getting the Patriots another ring for their dynasty.
