Saturday was a full day for the Nevada women’s basketball team.
The Wolf Pack played a second straight overtime game, losing a double-overtime heartbreaker at Utah State, 82-80, but also learned that they had earned a first-round bye at the upcoming Mountain West tournament.
Nevada, at 18-10 overall and 10-6 in MW games, can finish no worse than fifth in the final MW standings. The top five finishers earn first-round byes; the bottom six teams are matched up in first-round games.
The Wolf Pack clinched its MW quarterfinals spot when Colorado State lost to UNLV on Saturday.
