Banged up, far from home, and wrapping up a 33-game season, the Nevada women’s basketball team came up a couple of possessions short of ending with a win.
The Wolf Pack lost to Bowling Green, 73-65, in Sunday’s third-place game at the Women’s Basketball Invitational in Lexington, Ky. That put a bow on a 20-13 season that included a third-place finish in the Mountain West.
“I told our team after the game, ‘It doesn't feel good right now, but it does not negate the season we've been able to have.’ (Such as) being picked eighth in the preseason poll, finishing tied for third, and having the second-most wins in school history.
