After an uneven performance, Nevada escaped with a win its season and home opener.
Nevada held on to beat William Jessup, 66-65, on Saturday afternoon in women's college basketball at Lawlor Events Center.
Nevada's Da'Ja Hamilton led all scorers with 15 points, including the game-winning free throw with 27.6 seconds left. Fallon graduate Leta Otuafi had a double-double in her first game at Nevada as she added 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, going 5-6 at the free throw line. LaPraisjah Johnson and Amaya West each had 12 points for the Pack.
Nevada coach Amanda Levens said William Jessup plays in the strongest NAIA conference there is and will be a force this season.
