A much different team showed up on Saturday and it paid off as the Nevada women's basketball team picked up its first win in the Mountain West Conference this season.
Nevada built a big lead, then held on to beat San Diego State, 66-59, on Saturday at Lawlor Events Center. Da'Ja Hamilton scored 15 points for the Wolf Pack and Amaya West added 14, along with eight rebounds as Nevada improved to 5-4 overall, 1-3 in conference.
Kenna Holt (Bishop Manogue) had eight points, including two 3-pointers, and Leta Otuafi (Fallon) added seven points and seven rebounds for Nevada.
