It took a conference game for Nevada to adjust to the style of play in the Mountain West, although the results in the second game were the same.
The Wolf Pack women's basketball team played much better in its second conference, game, but New Mexico started making 3-pointers in the second half and took a 78-67 win on Saturday at Lawlor Events Center.
In the conference opener on Thursday, New Mexico got out to a big lead early and rolled over the Wolf Pack, 88-69, also at Lawlor.
Nevada was vastly improved on Saturday, but was doomed by turnovers, committing 19, to eight for the Lobos.
