Nevada's Nicole Wadden won bronze in the heptathlon at the Mountain West track and field outdoor championships as a sophomore and silver in the same event as a junior, so she was trending toward a gold for his senior season.
Wadden did just that Thursday at the MW Championships by winning the event in Logan, Utah. The gold medal is the second in Wadden's career and marks the fourth time she has been a medalist in the MW meet.
"It feels great," Wadden told the Mountain West Network after scoring the victory. "I've been working really hard and I'm just really excited.
