Nevada track star Nicola Ader now tops the Wolf Pack record list in one of the sport’s toughest events.
Ader (Affolterbach, Germany) totaled 5,836 points to win the seven-event heptathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., on Thursday, breaking Ali McKnight’s longstanding program record of 5,832.
McKnight’s mark had stood since 1995, making it one of the longest-surviving records in Nevada’s track history.
The 5,836 total moved Ader into fourth place on the NCAA’s season list, putting her in line for automatic national-meet qualifying to end the season.
Ader’s heptathlon marks included a personal-best 45.
