Wolf Pack's new 'Big Kahuna' showing his strength

Wolf Pack defensive tackle Kevin McReynolds is strong.

While at St. John’s College, a high school in Washington, D.C., McReynolds benched 400 pounds.

While at UCLA, McReynolds benched more than 500 pounds and squatted more than 600.

And when he arrived in Reno this fall, McReynolds instantly became one of Nevada’s strongest players.

So, what is McReynolds strongest muscle? That’s an easy one: It’s his brain.

“He plays with his head more than his body,” defensive line coach Bill Teerlinck said. “The game is 80 percent mental. No matter what position you play, it’s all mental.
