The late-season watch list for the annual Wooden Award contains 20 of the best college basketball players in the country — and one-tenth of them play in Reno.
Nevada seniors Caleb Martin and Jordan Caroline are both on the list, making the Wolf Pack one of just four teams with multiple players eligible for the award. The Wooden Award has been given since 1976 to honor the nation’s top player.
Tennessee, Duke and Virginia — the three top-ranked teams in both major polls — also have two players apiece on the 20-man watch list.
