Nevada was outscored 18-10 in the fourth quarter Saturday against Cleveland State, and that turned out to be the difference in the Wolf Pack’s 58-50 loss in the semifinals of the Women’s Basketball Invitational in Lexington, Ky.
Cleveland State was held to seven points in the first and third quarters, but a 26-point outburst in the second made up the difference in a game that was tied 40-40 heading into the final frame.
“Some of that was fouls; we got in foul trouble and Lexie (Givens) and Amaya (West) had to sit in the first half, and they’re two of our best team defenders,” Nevada head coach Amanda Levens said after the game.
