Nevada’s comeback bid fell short Saturday against UC Davis, with the Aggies holding on for an 84-68 win in the Lady Griz Classic women’s basketball tournament at Missoula, Mont.
The Aggies (3-4) outscored Nevada (1-5), 23-10, in the second quarter. UC Davis led, 47-28, at halftime.
The Wolf Pack, which trailed by 23 at 3:47 of the third, went on a 13-2 run to cut the gap to 13, capped by 3-pointers from senior Terae Briggs and Mikayla Christian.
Nevada was led by Montana native Briggs, who tied her career high of 22 points to lead all scorers.
