Despite 30 points from senior Terae Briggs, the Nevada women’s basketball team lost a two-overtime game at Utah State on Wednesday, falling 79-76 in the Mountain West opener for both teams.
The Wolf Pack (4-8 overall, 0-1 MW) trailed for most of the game, only leading for 4:19 of the 50 minutes played. But the Pack rallied from 15 points down at 3:43 of the third quarter to eventually force overtime.
A back-and-forth first overtime ended with Nevada missing a potential winning layup at the buzzer.
In the second extra session, Utah State led by five with 1:20 left, but the Pack closed to within one point on a Jade Redmon basket with 21 seconds to play.
