Stellar receiving and defense helped lift the Nevada volleyball team to a sweep of Air Force, 3-0 (29-27, 25-15, 25-23), on Saturday evening at the Virginia Street Gym.
The Wolf Pack (9-13, 4-6) held the Falcons to a .139 hitting percentage while Nevada saw outstanding performances from junior Madison Morell, who had 18 kills, three blocks and hit at .333 clip, and classmate Kathryn Groenweghe, who tallied a .385 hitting average to go along with a team-high five blocks. Nevada out-blocked Air Force, 9.5-7.
Back-to-back kills from sophomore Madison Foley tied the first set at 7-7 and a kill from Groenweghe gave the Pack its first lead of the match, 8-7.
