Wolf Pack to face former coach Jeff Horton

When the Wolf Pack plays at San Diego State on Saturday, it will face its former head coach.

Jeff Horton, who was Nevada’s head coach in 1993 before leaving for the same job at UNLV, one of the most controversial moves in Wolf Pack history that came to be known as the Red Defection, is in his first season as the Aztecs’ offensive coordinator and his fifth season overall as an assistant at SDSU.

After SDSU offensive coordinator Bob Toledo retired following last season, head coach Rocky Long elevated Horton to the top job on the offensive staff.
