Wolf Pack softball puts five on All-MW team

In 2016, the Wolf Pack softball team won its most games since 2009 and on Tuesday also had its most all-conference honorees since that season.

Senior shortstop Megan Sweet and freshman pitcher Brooke Bolinger were named to the All-Mountain West first team while senior outfielder Jasmine Jenkins, sophomore first baseman Jennifer Purcell and sophomore outfielder Aaliyah Gibson were voted to the second team.

Nevada’s five honorees matched San Jose State for the second-most players on this year’s All-MW team. League-champion Fresno State placed seven. The five selections are the most for the Wolf Pack since the 2009 NCAA Regional squad saw six players named to the postseason All-WAC team.
