Wolf Pack soccer edges Hawaii on late penalty kick

The Nevada soccer team outlasted Hawaii, 3-2, on Sunday, thanks to a late penalty kick goal by freshman Hannah Wuensche.

Sunday’s win helped gave the Wolf Pack a weekend sweep, as it followed a Friday win over Sacramento State. The Wolf Pack will enter Mountain West play at 3-4-1.

The three goals scored Sunday by the Pack were the most since it defeated Sacramento State, 3-2, in 2013.

The match featured 20 fouls, nine yellow cards and one red card.

Nevada opened the scoring in the 38th minute. Off a free kick from 30 yards, midfielder Lindsey Salcido found defender Brianna Bosson, who sent a shot up and past the Hawaii goalkeeper.
