Nevada sophomore receiver McLane Mannix announced Sunday evening that he is leaving the school due to "personal family matters."
Mannix, a freshman All-American who caught 50 passes this season for 875 yards and seven touchdowns, made the announcement in a Twitter post. It read, in part:
"Due to personal family matters, I will not be continuing my education and football career at the University of Nevada. This has not been an easy decision for me. I have made lifelong friends and learned many lessons, (for) both of which I will always be grateful."
Mannix, from Midland, Texas, was a key component of the Nevada offense, able to use his speed to become a deep threat on any Wolf Pack offensive play.
