During his final booster luncheon of the season, Brian Polian went over a roughly 10-slide, 15-minute presentation on why Nevada’s 2016 season was an anomaly and brighter days were ahead.
“I am firm in my belief that the program is on solid ground and headed in the right direction – we are just having a difficult year,” read the last slide, with Polian reiterating that message to the crowd of 40.
Nevada athletic director Doug Knuth made it clear Sunday he did not agree with that assessment. Polian and the Wolf Pack "mutually agreed to part ways" a day after a season-ending win at UNLV capped Nevada’s 5-7 season.
