Wolf Pack notes: Polian apologizes for two unsportsmanlike calls

News and notes from the Wolf Pack’s 44-20 loss to Arizona at Mackay Stadium.

* Nevada head coach Brian Polian wasn’t pleased with the officials from the start and eventually drew two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, both in the second half. Polian was especially unhappy with the officials’ call of an illegal formation in the first quarter that negated a 6-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Stewart. Nevada eventually settled for a field goal on that possession. He was called for an unsportsmanlike after a third-quarter Arizona touchdown and a fourth-quarter kickoff return, in which he thought Nevada’s Elijah Mitchell was hit out of bounds.
