The Wolf Pack is unlikely to play as many true freshmen this season as it has the first two years under head coach Brian Polian, and to Polian, that’s good news.
“That’s never been my goal,” Polian said of playing true freshmen. “That’s happened by necessity. It’s happened because we’ve recruited good players and they’ve come in and won jobs. Ideally, when a high mid-major like us dreams of that 10-, 11-, 12-win season you don’t do it with freshmen and sophomores. You do it with fifth-year seniors who have played a ton of football. We’re not there yet.
