BUFFALO, N.Y. – News and notes from the Wolf Pack’s 24-21 win over Buffalo on Saturday.
* RB James Butler had a record-breaking run in the first quarter, busting up the middle for a 91-yard run from the Wolf Pack 4-yard line to the Buffalo 5. That is the longest run in Nevada history that didn’t result in a touchdown and tied for the third-longest run in program history.
Nevada’s longest run came from Johnny Gordon, who went 98 yards in 1984. Mark Granucci, a chef at the Eldorado who was on the trip and coordinates the Wolf Pack’s food for road games, had a 92-yard run against Boise State in 1971 and Mike Balentine had a 91-yard run against Sacramento State in 1974.
