FRESNO, Calif. – News and notes from the Wolf Pack’s 30-16 win over Fresno State on Thursday.
* True freshman FS Dameon Baber recorded three interceptions (all in the fourth quarter) to become the first Nevada player with three picks in a game since Greg Grouwinkel’s four against Portland State in 1974. Baber also became the ninth MW player to record three interceptions in a game. Baber leads the conference with six interceptions and he’s the first Nevada player with six in a season since Joe Garcia in 2006.
Coach Brian Polian was pleased with Baber’s play but not pleased with one of the picks as Baber intercepted a fourth-down pass at the goal line instead of batting the ball down for better field position.
