News and notes from Nevada’s 31-27 loss to Boise State on Saturday night at Mackay Stadium:
* Boise State has never trailed in its series with Nevada, which began in 1971 with a 17-10 win for the Broncos in Reno. After a sizable early advantage for Boise State, the Wolf Pack won six times in a seven-game span to close to gap to 14-12 in 1998.
But it’s basically been all Broncos since then.
Saturday night’s win was Boise State’s sixth straight in a series it now leads, 30-13. The Broncos have won 16 of the teams’ last 17 games, with the lone exception being the “Miracle at Mackay” — Nevada’s overtime win in 2010 that ended up costing Boise State a probable BCS bowl berth.
