Last month, Nevada was picked to win a Mountain West divisional title. On Tuesday, the Wolf Pack didn’t get nearly as much respect on the national stage.
For that matter, neither did anyone from the Mountain West.
The Wolf Pack received two poll points to finish well down in the “others” category in the USA Today/AFCA top 25 preseason coaches’ poll, which was released Tuesday. The 2021 college football season is scheduled to open on Aug. 28.
That result placed Nevada behind two other Mountain West teams. Boise State received 27 points and defending conference champion San Jose State had 18; Air Force also got two points to finish in a tie with the Pack.
