Three days after besting rival UNLV, there was no hangover for the Wolf Pack basketball team.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t a win, either.
Playing against San Diego State, the best team in the Mountain West, the Wolf Pack led the Aztecs nearly the entire game. But on Tuesday night before 6,250 fans at Lawlor Events Center, Nevada simply couldn’t close as the Aztecs showed why they’re the MW champs and still undefeated in league play.
Nevada took a second-half-high seven-point lead after a Tyron Criswell layup with 6 minutes, 10 seconds remaining, but SDSU took over after that, scoring 13 of the game’s final 16 points to steal a 57-54 road victory.
