The Wolf Pack baseball team received a verbal commitment Monday from Adam Kirk, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound right-handed pitcher from Arcata, Calif., according to a source with knowledge of his recruitment.
Kirk, a class of 2017 prospect, is ranked as a top-100 player in California and a top-500 player nationally. He’s entering his junior season of high school this year. In his first two seasons, both on varsity, Kirk went 10-6 with a 3.24 ERA. He struck out 122 in 97.1 innings and held hitters to just 63 hits, although he also walked 65 batters. Arcata is 280 miles north of San Francisco and home to Humboldt State.
