Wolf Pack fritters away 20-point lead in loss to Utah State

LOGAN, Utah – Two feet. Just 24 inches. In the game of football, sometimes that’s the distance between a win and a loss. And in Nevada’s game at Utah State on Saturday, the Wolf Pack didn’t get those inches.

But the truth of the matter is the game never should have come down to a fourth-and-inches play in the final minutes. Nevada shouldn’t have let it be that close. But after building a 20-point lead early in the second half, the Wolf Pack faltered in all phases, the offense shutting down for the final 25 minutes, the defense letting Utah State find a rhythm and the special teams bordering on disaster all game.
