During the first half of Nevada’s exhibition game Friday against Dominican, freshman guard Lindsey Drew got loose from his defender, cut into the lane and lofted the ball in the air toward the basket.
At the same time, freshman power forward Cameron Oliver launched off both feet, snared the ball at its apex and double-fisted it through the rim to complete an alley-oop that brought the crowd to its feet.
“I saw Cam on the blocks, so I threw it up to him,” Drew said. “You know he’s going to go get it.”
The play sparked a 10-2 run to end the first half and was the first of many signs during the game that Drew and Oliver, who both originally committed to Pac-12 schools, are ready to make an impact this year.
