The late-game failures by the Wolf Pack offense has been stacking up for years.
In 2013, it fell short against San Diego State, a loss in overtime, and UNLV. In 2014, it was late-game short-circuits against Arizona, Boise State, Colorado State and Air Force. Earlier this year, Nevada couldn’t find the end zone with the ball in hand in the final minutes in losses to UNLV and Wyoming.
But on this day, on a senior day at Mackay Stadium, a day that has been more torment than triumph in recent years, the offense came through. On this day, the offense didn’t crumble.
