Blaga Delic first picked up a tennis racket at age 7 in her native Split, Croatia.
Sheila Morales grew up in the Basque country and began playing frontenis, a racquetball-tennis blend, at age 4 in Pamplona, Spain, where she was known to smack balls down the hallway of her house.
But it was in Reno where these two met and formed one of the best women’s doubles teams in the nation. Delic, a 5-foot-7 righty, supplies the power for the team, which is ranked 27th in the nation. Morales, a 5-4 lefty referred to as a “ninja” on the court by her teammate, supplies the craftiness.
