SAN DIEGO – Under third-year coach Brian Polian, the Nevada football team has been built on being able to run the ball. But Saturday night against San Diego State, the Wolf Pack had no shot in the trenches.
Nevada, which entered the game rushing for 221.1 yards per game, mustered just 35 yards on the ground in a 31-14 loss to SDSU at Qualcomm Stadium, the program’s fewest in more than a decade. The last time Nevada rushed for this few yards was 2004 against Louisiana Tech when it had just seven on 34 carries in Chris Ault's first game back for his third tenure, a 38-21 loss.
