The first time was basically controlled chaos. The second began in the midst of a global pandemic.
Now, Nevada basketball coach Steve Alford is hoping that his third try at opening a season with the Wolf Pack is a bit more like the old days. He will lead Nevada — and a roster made up entirely of his own recruits — into the 2021-22 season on Tuesday night against Eastern Washington.
The Pack and the Eagles will tip it off at 7 p.m. The game will feature unlimited spectator attendance for the first time since the end of the 2019 season (fans will need proof of COVID-19 vaccination to attend, though).
