Expectations are high for the Wolf Pack basketball team this season.
That notion was reinforced Wednesday when Nevada was the preseason pick to win the Mountain West after earning 19 of the 24 first-place votes. San Diego State, which was voted second, and Boise State, which was voted third, both earned two first-place votes. UNLV, which was voted sixth, also got one first-place vote.
This marks the first time since 2011, when the coaches voted Nevada to finish first in the WAC, that the Wolf Pack has been picked in the preseason to win its conference.
