Wolf Pack basketball picked ninth in Mountain West

The Wolf Pack basketball team has a new coach, but the same old low expectations from the outside.

Nevada was picked to finish ninth out of 11 teams in the Mountain West in the conference’s preseason media poll, which was released Tuesday during the league’s media days in Las Vegas.

Out of 25 votes, San Diego State received 22 first-place votes, Boise State two and Fresno State one.

The Aztecs, which shared the regular-season title with Boise State last season, was picked to finish first. The Broncos were second, followed by Utah State, UNLV, Fresno State and New Mexico.
