Nevada sophomore Cole Krzmarzick went 3-of-4 with two RBI, but Nevada fell short in the series-opener at Fresno State on Friday, 5-4.
Nevada (15-16 overall, 6-5 MW) scored four runs on eight hits, but Fresno State (22-13, 10-6) hit three home runs to get the win. The Wolf Pack’s Grant Fennell hit a pair of doubles and senior left-hander Christian Stolo pitched all eight innings, with six strikeouts, to lead the Pack.
Nevada pulled within one run in the top of the eighth inning. Trenton Brooks hit a lead-off single and Krzmarzick added his third hit of the game with an RBI single to center, trimming the Bulldogs’ lead to 5-4.
