Wolf Pack football has always been synonymous with high-powered offenses.
Whether it was James “Rabbitt” Bradshaw circling opponents in the 1920s, Marion Motley trucking foes in the early 1940s, Stan Heath becoming the first quarterback to throw for 2,000 yards in the late 1940s, Frank Hawkins stampeding in the 1970s, the Air Wolf attack led by Fred Gatlin and Chris Vargas in the 1980s and 1990s or Colin Kaepernick’s Pistol in the 2000s, the Wolf Pack has always found the end zone.
Defense has been another story. But offense? The Wolf Pack knows offense.
However, since longtime coach Chris Ault stepped down following the 2012 season, the Nevada offense hasn’t been so powerful.
