Mixing veterans and newcomers, and getting everyone rowing in the same direction, doesn’t always work in sports.
It’s sure working for the Nevada women’s basketball team, though.
The Wolf Pack, at 12-4 overall after gutting out a win over San Diego State on Wednesday, is in the midst of its best season in recent memory. Nevada also sits in a first-place tie in winning percentage in the Mountain West standings after starting 4-0 in league games for the first time since the 2009-10 WAC season.
It’s all come about with an interesting blend of players who have been in the program for many years mixed with some quality newcomers.
