Reno Gazette-Journal columnist Chris Murray has been known to be a bit wordy, so we’re giving him 1,000 words (no more than that) to share his thoughts from the week that was in the world of sports.
• THE WOLF PACK NAMED A STARTING QUARTERBACK this week and it seems like a lot of you are disappointed. Junior Tyler Stewart got the nod over freshman Hunter Fralick, the fan favorite in part because of his youth (Wolf Pack fans have gotten used to four-year starting quarterbacks) and in part because of his local roots (the Spanish Springs graduate would be just the second local to start at quarterback for Nevada in the last 40 years).
