There’s a new leader in the Mountain West.
Utah State, picked to finish ninth in the Mountain West’s preseason media poll, held on to beat Nevada, 81-76, in a physical game Saturday night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
The win boosted the Aggies to 24-6 overall and 14-3 in Mountain West games; Nevada dropped to 26-3 and 13-3. Utah State can clinch no worse than a share of the conference’s regular-season title by beating Colorado State on Tuesday.
The Wolf Pack, which lost for the second time in its last four games, finishes the regular season with a road game at Air Force and its home finale against San Diego State.
