Barry Sacks has coached 66 games at Mackay Stadium. Scott Baumgartner has coached 54 there.
Both coaches will add one more to that number Saturday when Nevada hosts New Mexico. But for the first time, neither of those coaches will be wearing Wolf Pack blue. They will be wearing Lobos red.
Sacks and Baumgartner were both key components to Nevada’s rise from an FBS also-run to a winning program that reached eight straight bowls from 2005-12. Sacks served as the high-energy defensive line coach and Baumgartner one of the co-inventors of the Pistol offense as Nevada’s wide receivers coach.
