Wizard the Lizard will have two new teams to cheer on a year from now.
The Truckee Meadows Community College mascot, and the rest of the TMCC campus, are welcoming a new athletic department that will start play in fall 2019 as part of the Division I National Junior College Athletic Association. The school’s first athletic director, the recently hired Tina Ruff, starts at TMCC on Sept. 17 after spending the last 16 years in a variety of roles with the Nevada Wolf Pack.
“I have done so many different jobs in athletics, and it was an opportunity for me to make an impact,” Ruff said.
