Nevada senior sprinter Kashae Knox has received the 2016 Arthur Ashe Sports-Scholar Award, the school announced Tuesday.
Knox, who just finished her career as one of the most successful sprinters in Wolf Pack history, is finishing her master’s degree in educational leadership, with a cumulative GPA of 3.83. She has also overcome two bouts of cancer in recent years.
Knox holds the fifth-fastest 100-meters, the sixth-fastest 200 meters, and has been a member of six of the 10 fastest 400-meter relay teams in Nevada track & field history.
She was one of three Mountain West athletes to receive first-team honors.
