Third quarter
Cal Poly opened the half with the ball and drove into Nevada territory but couldn’t convert a fourth-and-8 and turned the ball over at the Nevada 32. The Wolf Pack went three-and-out and Alex Boy drilled a career-best 71-yard punt for a touchback. Nevada forced a quick punt but went three-and-out again. Cal Poly drove to the Nevada 37-yard line before time ran out on the quarter. The Wolf Pack offense ran only six plays for seven yards in the third quarter; Cal Poly ran 24 plays for 127 yards in the quarter.
Second quarter
Cal Poly went on a long drive to open the first half, chipping down the field and into the red zone before a dropped touchdown pass made the Mustangs settle for a 27-yard field goal by Alex Vegas cut Nevada’s lead to 21-10.
