RENO, Nevada — Steve Alford was announced as the new head coach of the Nevada men's basketball team on Thursday.
Alford, who most recently coached at UCLA, signed a 10-year deal with a starting base salary of $300,000. The contract will earn him more than $11.5 million during that span.
There are additional earnings included for public appearances and use of his name and likeness.
The contract also includes bonuses for certain achievements, such as $50,000 for reaching the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament and $250,000 for winning an NCAA Championship.
