Erin Saxton’s goal in the 41st minute lifted the Nevada soccer team to a 1-0 win over visiting Wyoming on Sunday afternoon.
Sunday’s match, the final home contest of the year and senior day, was played in front of a program-record crowd of 1,043.
Nevada has won two matches in a row and shutout its opponents in back-to-back contests for the first time since 2012. The Wolf Pack improved to 6-8-2 overall and is 3-4-1 in Mountain West action.
In the 41st minute, following a Wyoming (7-5-4, 3-4-1 MW) foul, senior Lindsey Salcido lined up to take the free kick from about 25 yards out.
