Soccer: Spartans get past Wolf Pack

Rounding out a weekend road swing, the Nevada soccer team fell at San Jose State, 2-0, on Sunday in Mountain West action.

The Wolf Pack (6-10-2, 3-6-1 MW) held the Spartans, the league’s second place team (9-7-2, 7-3-0 MW), in check for the opening half. The Nevada defense allowed SJSU to register just two shots and entered halftime in a scoreless draw.

A quick strike put the Spartans ahead for early in the second half. In the 46th minute, SJSU’s Dorthe Hoppius took a one-touch pass in the box and fired a low shot toward the left post that found its way into the back of the net.
