It took some time to get going, but the end result was exactly what the Nevada women’s basketball team wanted.
Nevada won its 20th game of the season Friday afternoon in Lexington, Ky., beating Davidson, 76-63, in the first round of the Women’s Basketball Invitational.
The Wolf Pack, now 20-11 overall, advance to the semifinals in the winners bracket, where it will play either Cleveland State or Northeastern on Saturday night.
The Wolf Pack, which trailed 14-4 in early, was down 22-17 after the first quarter, but controlled the game from that point.
Nevada’s 28-12 advantage in the second quarter gave it an 11-point halftime lead and set the tone for what was to come in the second half.
